Stacking the Deck for Our Customers: Media Server vMRF 1.10 Adds OpenStack

I’m pleased to share that we now fully support OpenStack integration with our recently released Media Server vMRF 1.10, enabling communications service providers (CSPs) to dynamically deploy and manage virtualized MRF instances in the cloud.

Here’s why OpenStack support matters and why we’ve stacked the deck for our customers with vMRF 1.10.

  1. The cloud is here to stay. Public cloud deployments such as Amazon Web Services allow customers to deploy services quickly with low up-front costs. Private cloud deployments are built by CSPs using commodity hardware and virtualized network functions. This provides much needed elasticity – where capacity can be rapidly increased or decreased according to demand – as well as overall lower Total Cost of Ownership. We’ve designed our vMRF 1.10 with OpenStack to support both public and private clouds.
  2. Real-time media processing in the cloud can be tricky. It comes with strict performance requirements for minimal latency and jitter and presents new challenges for deploying a virtualized MRF over hypervisor technology in a cloud infrastructure. Our vMRF 1.10 overcomes these challenges with no sacrifice to network performance or quality.
  3. A standardized approach is critical. OpenStack is the leading industry standard for managing virtualized network functions (VNFs) in private and public clouds. Enabling CSPs to create MRF instances in the cloud in a standardized manner leads to increased scalability and elasticity.
  4. Our Professional Services team is on deck! Our media processing experts are available to integrate our vMRF 1.10 with your OpenStack implementation and MANO infrastructure, helping you accelerate your real-time VoLTE, VoWiFi, WebRTC and transcoding service rollouts that require cloud media processing.

Please contact us to learn more about our new vMRF 1.10 release and learn how Radisys will tackle the tough challenge of real-time media processing in the cloud for you – now with OpenStack support.
