Radisys And Partners Win Prestigious Leading Lights Award

Radisys, in partnership with Dense Air and EdgeQ, Inc., is proud to announce our joint win of the 2024 Leading Lights Awards in the Outstanding Use Case: Network & Service Automation category. This recognition honors our collaborative project, the Millennium Lakeside Garage Network Pilot, which has redefined how cellular networks can function in challenging environments.

Collaborative Innovation for Seamless Connectivity

The project, launched in May 2024, addressed a pressing issue in modern infrastructure: lack of reliable cellular connectivity in shielded locations like underground parking garages. Using Dense Air’s innovative cellShare™ Connectivity-as-a-Service (CaaS) platform, Radisys’ market-leading OpenRAN-based technology, and EdgeQ’s advanced 4G and 5G system on a chip (SoC), the solution brought seamless wireless coverage to the Millennium Parking Garage. This integrated system supports both public and private cellular services and provides robust, uninterrupted coverage.

Key Project Highlights

·       Rapid Deployment: The solution was installed in just 28 days, significantly faster than the typical 3–18 months for Distributed Antenna System (DAS) installations, thanks to a streamlined architecture.

·       Cost Savings: The cellShare™ platform reduces operational costs by approximately 30%, providing a cost-effective, multi-tenant solution while seamlessly integrating with existing networks.

·       Performance Excellence: The network delivered download speeds of 250 Mbps and upload speeds of 20 Mbps in a previously signal-dead area, even maintaining speeds of up to 160 Mbps during high-traffic events.

Transforming Connectivity for the Future

In addition to solving immediate connectivity challenges, the project opens the door for future IoT use cases such as electric vehicle charging, smart lighting, and building automation and is a replicable model for other complex facilities worldwide.
