We have seen significant interest in ATCA from the Mil / Aero segment. Many people are trying to understand the standard and if ATCA would be an effective solution for new projects. One of the more interesting applications is replacing rack mount servers and storage with an ATCA platform. There is a strong value proposition for ATCA in this use case. If you compare a equivlent rack mount sever and storage solution to an ATCA system you will find that the ATCA solution weights less, and in many cases it will also consume less power. The bladed architecture of ATCA also reduces cabling, is easier to setup and to replace failed blades.
